Bob Dylans election-night victory speech, delivered from the University of Minnesotas Northrop Auditorium stage in between encore renditions of Like a Rolling Stone and Blowin in the Wind: "Tony Garnier over there wearing his Obama button (raises his eyebrows)..Tony thinks its gonna be an Age of Light (chuckling)..Well I was born in 1941, the year they bombed Pearl Harbor. Been living in darkness ever since. Looks like thats all gonna change now" (chuckling a bit). Then he broke into Blowin In The Wind.

for nothingtolivefor. He's happy that Obama was elected. Its painful for the racist shitheads but sorry, America voted lol. Why shouldnt he be happy, theres a better chance of ending Irak with Obama. Gog Bless Bob Dylan for having whatever fucking point of view he wants to.

Bob used to see threw politcal ilk like the water that runs down his drain. What happened? If he thinks things are going to get better, he must be losing it. I remember him saying he was right in the middle, when did he go communist? Anyone remember when the left wing loons tried to get him in their circle before? Now that was funny!!! When he blew off Gore's bogus global warming show i thought he was still above all that political bullshit.

i think its rare for him to talk at his shows, with Dylan these days its more about the Songs & the Music. Dylan speaks of living in Darkness i wouldn't mind living in that type of Darkness. It looks to me like he's lived the American dream

this was a wonderful gig from all reports. He usually dosent speak, only to introduce his band. I was told the whole campus was outside jumpin up and down screaming Obama

I was in the front row of the pit and Bob was about 3 foot from me. Pity the good seats were on a lackluster show. The vocals as often the case were mostly inaudible. I'm rather shocked Bob pandered to the obvious political vibes of the night. I mean given he hasn't been an admitted liberal or protester since 64. Ive seen Bob over 30 times. this show was Ok but the political undertones were pointless. Im sure the extreme left will disagree.

There was a whole lot of good feeling that night and you can feel it on this recording...

Stupid? Things have been so bad we do need a change!
mysteria31 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I hope that was sarcasm in Dylan's voice. He's said stupid things before but fallin' in with that "Obama the One" crowd would Make me think ol Dylan's dumber than a door knob just like most of the rest of the country! Things will change? Yeah, let's all hope things go up instead of down down down...
