The Celtics of today got nothing against the Celtics of the 80s...The only Celtics I respect today would be Rondo and Allen...both Pierce and KG are fakes. I liked KG when he was in Minnesota...but now, not. THe NBA of the 80s was the best. And Kevin McHale is a post-move emperor, only he and Hakeem could dance like crazy on the post.

Don't even get me started with the pussification of the NFL. The Lakers/Celtics battles of the 80s made the NBA. IMO this was the greatest era of the NBA, revived by these 2 great franchises. KG and Pierces Celtics would get destroyed by Bird's Celtics. Kobe and Shaq's Lakers teams would get swept by Magic's Lakers. They don't make teams and players like they used too.

you sir are the first civilized lakers fan i have ever heard about .... if this were at a bar id buy ya a beer for this! ((and this is coming from a celtics fan too)) you are right in the sense that the NBA (and most americanized sports for that matter) now is pussified compared to what it was 20 years ago. Least Larry Bird after the whistle did become humane and help Kurt Rambis up.

I'm a Lakers fan even I have to say that was awesome what McHale did. This is the golden era of the NBA. The NBA became the pussy era when Phil Jackson complained that the Pistons was roughing up Jordan too much so then the league implemented the flagrant foul in the 90-91 season, surprisingly it was Jordan's 1st title and the water down version of the NBA we get today.
